Slowdown for Summer

I took a break from the podcast to slow things down a bit in my life and spend some good quality time with my husband and kids over the Summer break. I also wanted to take time to prayerfully reconsider the direction in which the Grit and Grace Podcast was headed. Season One was all about the learning curve. I learned a little bit about everything involving the podcast movement including content creating, screening new guests, scheduling apps, editing software, SEO, the ins-and-outs of YouTube, promotion and more. At the end of this post, I will attempt to define where we're going with Season Two but first, let me let you in on what I've been doing all Summer.

In mid-May, I had the privilege of celebrating Mother's Day with two moms (my mom and mom-in-law) and my children. While this may be just a regular occurrence for some, I don't want to take for granted the women God has been so gracious to put in my life. These women will journey to earth's ends for you because of their love for you. I treasure our relationships and time spent with my kids. I'm grateful that after all I've done, my kids still want to spend time with me. God is good.

The end of May marked Joshua's and my 23rd wedding anniversary. I've always said that Joshua in my life is the ideal example of Christ laying His life down for His Bride in my life. He is a man of faith who serves and loves His family with honor and joy. We both continue year after year to thank and praise God for His restorative power in our marriage.

As some of you know, I'm from the great state of Texas and June as it does every year, brought us extremely hot temperatures. So the kids and I have spent much of our time swimming when the triplets are not at work. I've also been blessed to have one of my adult daughters Cara and my grandson DJ with me here this Summer. Cara has guested on the show before. It's been a thrill spending more time with them.

Last but not least, we bought a house! So, although Summer is not over, it has been quite the eventful season already and I'm ready to launch Season Two of the Grit sand Grace Podcast. While I cannot predict how this season will go or how things will turn out, I do intend to make this season a little more chill and relaxed for myself and my guests. It's my goal to of course remain motivated, focused and to keep learning new things but "on set" I keep hearing the words "JUST RELAX."

Ultimately, Season Two will be all new fresh content with some new and some returning guests chatting it up like old friends. I pray this season is better than the last and that listeners continue to be encouraged and edified and that the name of Jesus continues and forevermore is glorified.

Amen, Tonya
